Person

I'm Ibrahim Doudieh, born in Damascus, Syria in 1965.

I've lived in Syria for 34 years. In these years I've accomplished studying Architecture at the University of Arts in Damascus while working in my own fabrics printing shop. That first led me to working in my own office as an interior designer for four years. After that I've come to work in a big Graphics Design Company designing and crafting gift cards and the like for six years.

While working as an architect I've had about five exhibitions.

After emigrating to Germany in 1999 I started working at a company designing fairscapes. All this time I've managed to stay in touch with ART and was

able to organize one exhibition and sell some of my work but never really took the time or muse to execute on an inspiration properly. In this last year my passion urged me to take the time and energy to rekindle this facet of my expression.

Philosophy

Every location and every situation has its own perception frequency that's waiting to be picked up in a certain way. It's never possible to receive an isolated inflow without the context that surrounds it and the combination of influences that come with it. Each time you need to determine a specific degree of abstractionWhen approaching a project - or even the idea of it - you need to free yourself from limitations that too many options to choose from can have on you. It might feel right to get your mind out there and soak it in inspiration. When returning to your own canvas however, you might want to eliminate the thoughts and ways to go that don't match who you are. It's about seeing the subject with your own eyes and in your own with feeling drenched view through a window that's not fitted with surgical crystal clear glass panels. A portal to another world seemingly similar to ours - but not quite.
